Job Summary/Basic Function

The ID Technical Operations Manager will serve as a member of the Information Systems Services team with the primary responsibility of providing high quality, customer-focused technical support for Millersville University’s auxiliary systems. Especially pertaining to the Card ID System. To ensure the Card ID software and hardware are operational, available, reliable, and secure and meet functionality requirements. To support, implement solutions and identify and solve problems within our auxiliary systems.

Duties include:
  • Administration of all facets of the card system
  • Testing processes
  • Maintaining software with critical software patches
  • Resolving technical and operational problems
  • Creating documentation
  • Configuring the system to ensure functionality
  • Diagnosing and solving problems
  • Supporting users with their business process
  • Provide professional, customer-focused direct support to card id users in problem determination, supporting business processes, monitoring data processes and procedures, generating reports, accessing data, identifying business process requirements, and resolving technical issues.
  • Conduct formal classroom and informal information technology training for users and IT team.
  • Investigate emerging technologies and new software to identify opportunities to improve enterprise application services, cost effectiveness, and functionality.
  • Actively pursue professional development opportunities to ensure technical skill set remains current with evolving Information System Services requirements.
Starting salary is $65,000 annually, with a comprehensive benefit plan.

Position available immedidately.

Required Qualifications Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
Knowledge & Abilities:
  • Demonstrated ability of:
    - Analytical thinking and problem solving
    - Customer service orientation
    - High quality communication and interpersonal skills to facilitate collaboration/technical partnerships.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively adapt to evolving technologies and business requirements.
  • Demonstrated evidence of a commitment to diversity and equity.
  • Successful interview demonstrating the following:
    -Evidence of relevant technical expertise
    -Experience or knowledge of report writing tools.
  • Three clear background checks: Criminal Background Check (Act 34); Child Abuse History Clearance (Act 151); and FBI Federal Criminal History-Fingerprinting (Act 114).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Card ID Experience (CBORD, Micros).
  • Knowledge of enterprise applications and reporting development tools applicable to university enterprise architecture.
  • Higher Education experience.
  • Project Management competencies.
  • Experience administering/managing applications within the past three years.
  • One year application development.
  • SQL.
  • Student Information System (Ellucian Banner).
  • Database Knowledge (Oracle/SQL Server).
  • Reporting Writers (Hyperion, Crystal).
