Job Summary/Basic Function

The Latina/o Studies Program occasionally needs a temporary instructor for Introduction to Latina/o Studies and a Topics in Latino Studies course.

In addition to teaching, there is an expectation for scholarship and service commensurate with the assignment.

Applications are accepted on a continuous basis. Materials are reviewed when an instructor is needed.

Required Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in Latina/o Studies or related field.
  • At least one year teaching experience either a a graduate assistant or independent instructor at the college level.
  • Evidence of commitment to working in a diverse environment.
  • Successful interview, teaching demonstration and three successful background clearances: Act 34 (criminal record check), Act 114 (FBI Federal Criminal History-Fingerprinting) and Act 151 (Child Abuse History Clearance).
Preferred Qualifications
  • PhD in Latina/o Studies or Sociology with course work in Latina/o Studies
  • Thee years experience teaching Latina/o Studies courses.
