Job Summary/Basic Function

Teach Social Work courses at the BSW and/or MSW level.

The Department of Social Work, in the School of Humanities and Social Sciences, is comprised of nine faculty members, 1.5 support staff, 444 students (in fall 2012) and offers programs in Social Work and Gerontology (interdisciplinary minor).

In addition to teaching, there is an expectation for scholarship and service commensurate with the assignment.

Required Qualifications

- MSW in Social Work
- Experience teaching in higher education
- Two years equivalent post-BSW/MSW professional social work experience
- Evidence of a commitment to working in a diverse environment
- Successful interview and teaching demonstration
- Successful background checks: Act 34 (Criminal Record Check); Act 114 (FBI Federal Criminal History-Fingerprinting); and Act 151 (Child Abuse History Clearance).

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience teaching at both the BSW and MSW levels
- Teaching experience in a CSWE-accredited MSW program
- Experience teaching electronically facilitated courses
